In this intense footage from Akron, Ohio, police initiated a traffic stop after a vehicle was seen crossing a double yellow line. As officers approached to identify the driver, they discovered he was wanted on a warrant. The back passenger’s identification also revealed outstanding warrants. In a surprising turn of events, the back passenger attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended with the help of a taser.
While the driver was cited and released at the scene, the passenger, later identified as Norman Dowdell, faced serious charges. Initially charged with resisting arrest and obstructing official business, the resisting arrest charge was ultimately dismissed. Dowdell was found guilty of obstructing official business and received a sentence requiring him to obey all laws for one year, along with 90 days of jail time—88 days suspended, with just 2 days credited for time served.
