On December 31, 2024, in Oklahoma City, a high-stakes police pursuit unfolded as 35-year-old Kayla Cervantes led Moore Police on a chase due to multiple felony warrants. Following the identification of her vehicle, officers attempted a traffic stop, but Cervantes refused to yield, driving recklessly through traffic lights and into oncoming lanes. The dangerous pursuit continued until officers executed a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI) near I-240 & May, causing Cervantes’s vehicle to roll onto its side and come to a stop. Officers swiftly took her into custody without further incident.
Cervantes was taken to a local hospital for medical clearance before being booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center. She allegedly aimed to distribute M30 Fentanyl pills, meth, heroin, and related paraphernalia. Remarkably, no injuries to officers or civilians occurred during this dramatic event.
